andrew mahon

Canadian-British bass-baritone Andrew Mahon has appeared as a soloist across the United Kingdom, Canada and Europe, performing both concert and operatic repertoire.

Specializing in the music of Bach, recent performances include Mass in B Minor with the Tilford Bach Festival and Tenebrae & the Academy of Ancient Music; St. Matthew Passion with Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's Cathedral; St. John Passion with the London Handel Orchestra and the Orchestra of St. John's; Christmas Oratorio with Gloucester Choral Society, London Handel Orchestra, and Augsburger Domsingknaben.

Mahon’s 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons have been severely curtailed by the Coronavirus Pandemic.  Though he did appear with the Edmonton Symphony in Messiah, his performances of Haydn’s Die Schöpfung for the Sequoia Symphony in California, Bach Cantatas in Ottawa and Leipzig (Bachfest Leipzig) with the Ottawa Bach Choir, Bach’s Johannes Passion with Tafelmusik and Messiah with the National Arts Centre Orchestra were postponed until future seasons.   Further credits: Calgary Philharmonic, Les Voix Baroques, Elora Festival and Gächinger Kantorei.
