JAMAL AL TITI

Belarusian-born Canadian baritone Jamal Al Titi is a young artist on the rise whose warm, resonant timbre and charismatic stage presence have already brought him to leading roles on both Canadian and international stages.

This upcoming season, Jamal makes his company debuts with Edmonton Opera as Papageno (role debut) in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal as Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, under the baton of Rafael Payare. He subsequently returns to Opéra de Montréal for the world premiere of ATYS in co-production with Ballet Opéra Pantomime.

A graduating member of Opéra de Montréal’s prestigious Atelier lyrique, he has appeared in performances of Pergolesi's La serva padrona as Uberto, Ravel's L’Enfant et les sortilèges as L’arbre and Le fauteuil, and in the title role of the world premiere of Jobidon's Le Phare, alongside performances of the works of Britten, Handel, and more. In the 25/26 season, he performed as Dancaïre in Bizet’s Carmen, where he impressed with a “magnificent timbre” (Olyrix), and “(stood out) for his energy and impressive vocal projection” (Ludwig Van Montréal). Jamal joined the Atelier after winning the Stingray Audience Choice Award at their 2024 Gala Talent.

In 2025, Jamal spent his summer at the International Meistersinger Academy in Germany, under the guidance of Edith Wiens, and working with Craig Terry, Tobias Truniger, Thomas Laussmann, Marcelo Maral, and Brigitte Fassbaender. He appeared in recital, for programs of lieder and cabaret songs curated by Terry, and a gala performance of operatic favourites with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.

“Al Titi plays, sings and has fun at the same time, while delighting his audience with his powerful, warm, naughty and deeply controlled voice. The table was set and expectations became very high.”
