The Company

Dean Artists Management was founded in 1992 as the Classical Music Division of The Talent House, one of Canada's most important commercial entertainment agencies. In 1997, Dean Artists became an independent corporate entity, founded by Bruce Dean. Today, Dean Artists and The Talent House continue a longstanding relationship, sharing industry knowledge and collaborating across artistic disciplines.

For more than three decades, Dean Artists Management has played an important role in the Canadian classical music landscape, representing singers, conductors, directors, and choreographers on stages across Canada and around the world. The agency's leadership has long been informed by diverse professional experience as performers, arts administrators, producers, broadcasters, educators, and arts leaders. This breadth of expertise, combined with a deep understanding of the repertoire and the realities of artistic careers, has helped foster enduring relationships with presenters, producers, and organizations throughout the international performing arts community.

In 2025, Morgan Reid was appointed Managing Director, marking a new chapter in the agency's history while continuing its longstanding commitment to artist advocacy and career development. Working alongside a dedicated team, Reid oversees the representation of artists performing at regional, national, and international levels, while guiding the agency's continued growth and evolution.

Often recognized for its strong commitment to Canadian artists, Dean Artists Management has earned a reputation as a champion of Canada's classical music community both at home and abroad. Beyond artist representation, the agency actively supports initiatives that strengthen the performing arts sector through advocacy, mentorship, educational outreach, and professional development. Through participation in artist training programs, competitions, and industry initiatives, DAM contributes to the development of emerging artists while helping to foster a collaborative and sustainable future for the profession.

What We Do

Our mission is to foster artistic excellence and support the creation of sustainable, meaningful careers for singers, conductors, directors, and choreographers by helping them realize their full professional potential and connect with audiences in Canada and around the world. Our roster curation is both intentional, in its support of Canadian artists, and thoughtful, in that we maintain a balanced roster that reflects both emerging and established careers, national and international level, and unique talent and profile.

We are committed to helping artists navigate and thrive within the complexities of a professional performing arts career. Through thoughtful guidance, strategic planning, industry relationships, and a deep understanding of the artistic landscape, we work to create opportunities that align with each artist's unique strengths, aspirations, and stage of development. By fostering meaningful connections between artists, presenters, producers, and audiences, we support the growth of impactful careers while contributing to a dynamic and sustainable performing arts sector.

As advocates for the performing arts, we recognize a responsibility not only to the artists we represent, but also to the broader profession. We actively support the development of emerging artists through engagement with educational institutions, training programs, and mentorship opportunities, helping to bridge the gap between artistic training and professional practice. We are equally committed to strengthening the performing arts ecosystem through collaboration with fellow artist managers, agencies, presenters, producers, and industry organizations. By sharing expertise, fostering professional relationships, contributing to sector-wide initiatives, and supporting the next generation of artists and arts leaders, we seek to advance a healthy, collaborative, and sustainable future for the performing arts.
