Canadian mezzo-soprano Georgia Burashko has been hailed as a “model of expressiveness” and “emotionally evocative” (Opera Going Toronto). Based in Den Haag, Netherlands, Georgia is a Young Bach Fellow with De Nederlandse Bachvereniging for the 2022-23 season, and will join Les Arts Florissants and Le Jardin des Voix for an international tour of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen in 2023-24.
Highlights of her 2021/2022 season included selections of Bach with the De Nederlandse Bachvereniging on the radio station NPO4, and singing Nerone in Handel’s Agrippina at Royaumont. In early 2022, Georgia premiered J.S. Bach - The Apocalypse, a joint opera production with De Nederlandse Bachvereniging and Opera2Day which toured the Netherlands, and sang the second soprano in C.P.E Bach’s Die Israeliten in der Wüste under the baton of Paul Agnew.
In June 2022, Georgia released her debut album with Italian harpist Michela Amici entitled Dal suono dolcissimo. Featuring a track list of 17th century Italian music, and new works for voice and baroque harp, Burashko and Amici toured their program in recital across both Italy and the Netherlands. They look forward to upcoming workshops of new commissions written for their duo in 2023.
