DEAN ARTISTS MANAGEMENT WELCOMES FRÉDÉRIC ANTOUN (TENOR)

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME TENOR FRÉDÉRIC ANTOUN TO THE DEAN ARTISTS MANAGEMENT ROSTER!

Praised for his “radiant high notes...equal to any heard on international stages today” (Opera Canada), Frédéric Antoun appears regularly on the leading stages of the world including the Metropolitan Opera, Opéra national de Paris, Salzburg Festival, Wiener Staatsoper, and the Canadian Opera Company. 

The 2023 - 2024 season sees Antoun return to Opéra national de Paris as Raúl in Thomas Adès’ The Exterminating Angel, a role he premiered at the Salzburg Festival and, subsequently, at the Royal Opera House and Metropolitan Opera. This season Antoun also reprises two signature roles - Caliban in Adès’s The Tempest at Wiener Staatsoper and Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.

This past season he sang Caliban in The Tempest at Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, Gérald in Lakmé and Don José in Carmen at Paris’ Opéra Comique, Narraboth in Salome at the Canadian Opera Company, and Mozart’s Requiem at Berlin’s Konzerthaus. 

Antoun is equally at home on the concert stage where his repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah, Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri, Berlioz’s L’enfance du Christ and Requiem, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, Mozart’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Bach’s Magnificat and St. Matthew and St. John Passions. He has notably worked with conductors Bertrand de Billy, Johannes Debus, Gustavo Dudamel, Emmanuelle Haïm, Philippe Jordan, Marc Minkowski, Kent Nagano, Yannick Nezet-Séguin, Antonio Pappano, Jérémie Rhorer, Carlo Rizzi, and François-Xavier Roth.

KIRSTEN LEBLANC AND ALEX HALLIDAY WITH CANADIAN OPERA COMPANY

Soprano Kirsten LeBlanc and bass-baritone Alex Halliday appear with the Canadian Opera Company for “Opera's Greatest Hits”, the first of four performances in their Community Concert Series. The performances continue on September 16th and 17th at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre.

DEAN ARTISTS MANAGEMENT WELCOMES JAMIE GROOTE (SOPRANO)

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME SOPRANO JAMIE GROOTE TO THE DEAN ARTISTS MANAGEMENT ROSTER!

Praised for her rich sound and captivating finesse, soprano Jamie Groote is immensely dedicated to her artistry and is creating a reputation for herself as a young singer to watch.

Recently completing her final year in the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio, Ms. Groote performed Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), 2nd Wood Nymph (Rusalka), La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Flora (La Traviata), Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), and the lead role of Lea in the world premiere of Ian Cusson’s Fantasma with the company.

On the concert platform her repertoire includes Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and 4, Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, Ravel’s Sheherezade, Handel’s Messiah, and Mozart's Requiem, and has performed under the batons of Keri-Lynn Wilson, Uri Mayer, Jader Bignamini, Johannes Debus, Patrick Lange, Roberto Kalb, Andrei Fehrer, and Rosemary Thomson. Roles in her current repertoire include Donna Anna, Donna Elvira, Countess, Pamina, Fiordiligi, Micaela, Marguerite, Governess, Ellen Orford, and Mathilde.

DEAN ARTISTS MANAGEMENT WELCOMES ALEX HALLIDAY (BASS-BARITONE)

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME BASS-BARITONE ALEX HALLIDAY TO THE DEAN ARTISTS MANAGEMENT ROSTER!

Bass-baritone Alex Halliday is praised for “a voice that is both powerful and expressive” (SesayArts Magazine).  

This past season Alex completed his final year as a member of the Canadian Opera Company's Ensemble where he was seen on stage in the roles of Jailer in Puccini’s Tosca, Servant in Verdi's Macbeth, Morales in Bizet’s Carmen, both Cappadocian and a jump in performance Second Nazarene in Strauss’ Salome, along with various cover assignments for the 2022/2023 season. Other notable assignments at the COC include Guccio in Gianni Schicchi (2021) and Noah in the 2022 world premiere of Fantasma by Ian Cusson and Colleen Murphy. Alex looks forward to returning to the COC for the 2023/2024 season in several assignments.

Alex is quickly making his mark across Canada in not only opera, but on the concert stage. He most recently had the pleasure of performing as the bass soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Durham Youth Orchestra, and the Peterborough Singers for their 2022 holiday seasons. Also in concert, Alex had the pleasure of performing Coline in Puccini’s La bohème with Orchestre Philharmonique et Choeur des Mélomanes at Montréal’s Maison Symphonique.
