Dean Artists Management Welcomes Mezzo-Soprano Emma Parkinson to the Roster for General Management
Dean Artists Management is delighted to welcome mezzo-soprano Emma Parkinson to our roster.
Chinese-Canadian mezzo-soprano Emma Parkinson is a dynamic, modern artist, praised for “an outstanding voice… hall-filling, supple, rich, dark-tinged, with a golden sheen” (La Scena Musicale).
Her 25/26 season begins with a return to the mainstage of Vancouver Opera as Maddalena in Rigoletto. Subsequently, she joins the Vancouver Bach Choir as the alto soloist for Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, the Victoria Symphony for Mozart’s Requiem with the Choir of King’s College Cambridge, and Belle Spirale Dance Projects for a world premiere by Wen Wei Wang.
Last season, Emma made her Pacific Opera Victoria mainstage debut as The Fox in Portman’s The Little Prince, made debuts with symphonies of Victoria, Kamloops, and Regina for Handel’s Messiah, and joined the Victoria Philharmonic Choir for their presentation of Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Emma also appeared with the PRISMA Festival Orchestra for performances of Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’été and Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder.
Emma has additionally been engaged by Early Music Vancouver, Opéra de Massy, City Opera Vancouver, Opéra de Montréal, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Slovak State Philharmonic Orchestra, and Les Chorégies d’Orange, for repertoire including Bizet’s Carmen, Strauss’ Die Fledermaus, Bach’s St. Join Passion, Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, and the world premiere of Ho’s Chinatown.

Mezzo soprano Megan Latham, tenor Owen McCausland, baritone Justin Welsh, and bass-baritone Alex Halliday join the Canadian Opera Company to open the 2025/2026 season with Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette.
The production is directed by Amy Lane, and is conducted by Yves Abel.

Andrew Crust with Vermont Symphony Orchestra
Conductor Andrew Crust opens his third season with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra with VSO at the Flynn: East Meets West.
The program features one of the world’s leading tabla virtuosos Sandeep Das, and guest sitarist Rajib Karmakar, in a program that includes Ravi Shankar’s Symphony, Wijeratne’s Tabla Concerto, Das’ Mohini, and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

Dean Artists Management is delighted to welcome bass-baritone Joel Allison to our roster.
Canadian bass-baritone Joel Allison has garnered praise for his “rich, ringing tone” (Ludwig Van Toronto), “expressive voice… and excellent interpretation” (Pro Opera). Recent highlights include his house debuts with both Oper Frankfurt and Tiroler Festspiele Erl as Bijou-Alcindor in Adam’s Le Postillion de Longuemeau, Oper Leipzig for Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims as Lord Sydney, and Palermo Classica Festival as Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni. His return to the Canadian Opera Company for Masetto in Don Giovanni, garnered praise for his "excellent physical acting and stylish singing" (Bachtrack).
This upcoming season, Joel makes debuts as Angelotti in Puccini’s Tosca and Frank in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, alongside performances of Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen, the Father in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Sharpless in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and Colline in Puccini’s La bohème, all with Deutsche Oper Berlin as part of their ensemble.
